So we all know that prevention is the best policy. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, right? Much of the continuing education we have done as a team lately has focused on how to provide the best preventive care for our patients. What is effective as a cavity prevention protocol at one stage of an individual’s life may not work as time passes and circumstances change. New strategies need to be learned. While our dental hygienists are excellent at teaching cavity prevention techniques and recommending effective products to help, many of our patients could benefit from a more customized approach. For these folks, we offer a Cavity Risk Assessment visit. Our dental assistants have been trained to asses salivary function, dietary factors, medical contributing conditions, dry mouth, hygiene habits , and numerous other factors. It is our hope that this will empower our patients to more effectively take control of their oral health. Now you know what has been the focus of our educational efforts lately. What else have we been up to? Check out this video from June to see how much fun we had coming up with a special Father’s Day tribute to Dr. Bryan, who bonds with his kids through Pokemon Go. |
